President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the activities of the “Siyovush Textile” enterprise in Kagan district of Bukhara region.
Previously, the site of the enterprise was a wasteland. In order to create conditions for entrepreneurs, the territory was included in the free economic zone “Gijduvon”, the necessary infrastructure was brought here, and as a result, conditions for industry were created.
In particular, the $36 million project of “Siyovush Textile” LLC was completed last month. The enterprise is capable of producing 40 thousand tons of acrylic yarn a year. 600 jobs have been created.
“This is a new direction in New Uzbekistan,” said Shavkat Mirziyoyev. – The textile industry in our country is developing dynamically. If companies want to create added value and earn more income, they must at least partially familiarize themselves with acrylic. Products made of it cost 5 times more. This means profit, stability and jobs. Therefore, the state, which is promoting the processing of cotton, will now also provide full support for the production of synthetic fibers.
The enterprise has completed the first stage of the project and is now working with foreign partners to expand its activities. In the next stage, it plans to fully localize the production of acrylic fibers and finished products made from them. The number of jobs will reach 1.2 thousand.
