On March 14, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev departed for Syrdarya region to get acquainted with the living conditions of the population.
Along the way, the Head of State sincerely talked to the Chairman of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan, Mufti Nuriddin Kholiknazarov. Reference was made to the work carried out in the spiritual and educational sphere, the virtues of the holy month of Ramadan.
As it is known, on March 11, our country’s Muslims, as well as the entire Islamic Ummah around the world, welcomed this blessed month with joy. Our fasting compatriots are performing their religious practices in peace and prosperity. The Quran is recited in mosques and prayers are said for peace, abundance and prosperity for the benefit of our people.
Mufti noted that on these joyful days, such qualities as tolerance and generosity are even more evident and our compatriots are eager to multiply good deeds.
The President shared his views on how to spend this month adequately, on the need to value peace in our country and to strengthen the atmosphere of kindness and mutual assistance. It was noted that the policy of elevating the honour and dignity of the person, ensuring the interests of the people and supporting those in need will continue.
The development of entrepreneurship and full use of home and household opportunities were noted as an important aspect of improving the standard of living of the rural population. The importance of educating young people with educated, enlightened and patriotic personalities and instilling diligence in their studies and work was mentioned.
