On May 31, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in the Bukhara region.
The trip began with a good deed – visiting the mausoleum of Bahouddin Naqshband. The verses of the Quran were read and prayers were made for the peace and prosperity of our people.
On the initiative of the Head of State, the complex was further improved, and its historical appearance was restored. During the visit, the President examined the work done.
First of all, the historic passage from the Toki Miyon gates to the mausoleum was restored. Now the pilgrims will go to the mausoleum of Bahouddin Naqshband from the “Qible” side, as prescribed by tradition.
– The reconstruction of the gate, which was destroyed a century ago, is an embodiment of our self-consciousness and respect for history, – said Shavkat Mirziyoyev. – Now every monument here, on Khan’s tombs, must be inscribed. It is necessary to make pilgrims step by step study history and become filled with spiritual strength.
There are gardens on both sides of the Toki Miyon gate. A museum and ablution rooms have been built. Doniyolbiy madrasah, which was on the verge of disappearing, is restored.
In conversation with scientists, issues of deep study of the heritage of Bahouddin Naqshband were discussed. It was emphasized that it is necessary to bring sources from other countries, support scientific research, and enrich the museum following the example of the Imam Bukhari complex.
Instructions were also given for expanding the facilities for pilgrims, including foreign tourists, creating conditions for a comfortable stay at any time of the year.
The responsible persons were instructed to draw up a regulation covering these issues, taking into account the suggestions of scientists.
