On September 30, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the National Institute of Pedagogical Excellence named after Abdulla Avloni and got acquainted with the updated conditions.
Uzbekistan builds its development on the basis of education. In this area, fundamental reforms are being carried out and large-scale programs are being implemented. The most important link and foundation of youth policy is primary and general education.
There are more than 37 thousand kindergartens and more than 10 thousand schools in our country. New ones are being built locally. But that’s just part of the goal. The main question is the quality of education.
Therefore, qualifications of teachers and specialists are constantly improving. The resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on continuous professional development of employees of preschool and school educational organizations adopted on June 21 this year raised this system to a new level.
In particular, this institute was transformed into the National Institute of Pedagogical Excellence named after Abdulla Avloni. The existing complex was completely renovated, two additional buildings were built, all of them equipped with modern equipment. Both the number of students and the areas of study increased.
The institute was opened 90 years ago, in 1934. In this regard, a museum was created here. It reflects the attention of our Jadid ancestors to science, the education system founded by Abdulla Avloni, textbooks of that time, and the stages of development of general education. Using artificial intelligence, the image of the enlightened Jadids was recreated. There is also a library with a collection of about 88 thousand books. The Head of State toured the museum and library.
The institution has introduced traditional, alternative and dual forms of advanced training and retraining, including those based on artificial intelligence technologies. The situational training room is connected via video link to the centers of pedagogical excellence of the Republic of Karakalpakstan and other regions. Such software platforms as continuous professional education, management training courses, certification of teachers and assignment of qualification categories, management of preschool and school education have been introduced. This allows for prompt training of directors and teachers in the regions in new pedagogical technologies and methods.
Today, a school director must be not only an experienced teacher, but also a good manager, in a certain sense, a strategist. The institute’s curriculum pays great attention to this, and a school of directors has been established.
In the offices of inclusive education and psychologists, the qualifications of defectologists and educators engaged in this area will be improved. Video tutorials are filmed in the media studio. The institute also has a conference hall, computer and seminar rooms, a canteen and other facilities.
As is known, today special attention is paid to the exact and natural sciences in our country, schools are equipped with modern equipment and teaching aids. This requires teachers to adapt to new methods, acquire new knowledge and skills. The “STEM” laboratory serves to retrain and improve the qualifications of teachers in this area.
Based on modern educational requirements, the number of study hours at the institute has been increased. In order to create decent conditions for teachers, the dormitory has undergone modern repairs, the number of places has been increased.
The President visited these premises and got acquainted with the new amenities and opportunities.
– The institute should not wait, but take the initiative and lead. It is necessary to work more with teachers and principals from the regions, improve the quality in all schools. The school educates people of the new era, the creators of our future. There is no future without education, – said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Instructions were given on training teachers and mentors abroad, harmonizing advanced world experience.
Over the past period of this year, about 4,300 heads of educational institutions have improved their qualifications at the Institute. Also, about 2 thousand directors and candidates for directors have completed management courses. More than 113 thousand teachers took classes through the “Continuous Professional Education” platform.
The Singapore International Educational Organization retrained 100 school directors, 200 teachers of mathematics and natural sciences. The Center for International Studies also began operating within the Institute’s structure.
In general, a continuous system of retraining and advanced training of management, teaching and specialized personnel of preschool and school educational organizations will be established in our country. From 2025, they will improve their qualifications once every five years, taking time off from work. In addition, “Professional Development Hours” and “Professional Development Day” will be introduced in general secondary education institutions. The best practices accumulated in presidential schools will be widely applied in educational institutions through a system of continuous professional development.
