President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited “Yangi Avlod” special industrial zone under construction in Yangikhayot district of the capital.

With the development of industry and entrepreneurship in the country, there is a growing need for additional production space. The industrial zone created by the decree of the Head of State dated March 20 this year will provide such areas for many new enterprises.

The complex, which will occupy an important place in the economy of the region, is spread over an area of 764 hectares. Currently, active work is underway to create infrastructure. The zone will host 47 projects totaling $1.375 billion in sectors such as food processing, construction materials, electrical, engineering and chemical products. These enterprises will create about 12 thousand new jobs.

As the President noted, the enterprises of the zone will work in cooperation with leading international brands. Among them are DP World, JAC Motors, Krantas, Acec Japan, East Can Solutions, EAS and Evyap, which are planning to produce high value-added export-oriented products.

The President was presented with some of the projects being implemented in the zone.

For instance, the Chinese company CAMC Engineering will manage the zone, attract investors and develop infrastructure. The JAC Motors company plans to establish production of commercial vehicles. The implementation of this project worth $135 million will provide 2 thousand jobs.

Production of office furniture and armchairs will be launched jointly with the Japanese company Acec Japan. This project, the cost of which is $9 million, will create jobs for 100 people.

Cooperation with DP World from the United Arab Emirates is aimed at creating a transport and logistics center.

It is planned to organize laboratories, research centers, conference halls and trade spaces on the territory of the zone. Dual training will also be introduced, so that specialists for industrial enterprises will be trained here.

– In recent years, our GDP has doubled to $110 billion. Now we aim to bring this figure to $200 billion. We will not achieve this result without creating all conditions for investors and full support for projects. Tashkent should become a model in this area, – emphasized the President.

Responsible persons have been instructed to pay special attention to the issues of localization, digitalization and energy saving in the projects being implemented.
