President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the “Yangi O‘zbekiston” residential development currently under construction in Jarkurgan district.

The country continues to pursue a consistent policy aimed at improving living standards and expanding access to modern, comfortable housing. In line with the Presidential Decree of 12 October 2021, comprehensive measures are being implemented to develop “Yangi O‘zbekiston” residential areas while accelerating the socio-economic development of the regions.

One such project, implemented in accordance with modern urban planning standards, is underway in Jarkurgan district of Surkhandarya region.

The construction of 116 apartment buildings is planned on 50 hectares of developed steppe land. To date, a polyclinic, a kindergarten for 180 children, a school for 330 students, and a mahalla building have been commissioned, and residents have already moved into 1,500 apartments in 68 buildings.

An information technology and English language training center has also commenced operations, while seven micro-centers and five retail and consumer service facilities have been constructed. Drinking water and heating networks have been connected, approximately three kilometers of gas pipeline have been laid, and a 250-kilowatt transformer has been installed. Ornamental and fruit trees have been planted across 4.5 hectares, and saxaul has been cultivated on 300 hectares of desert land.

In the future, the construction of about 50 more buildings is planned. Specifically, this year’s plans include the erection of 14 apartment buildings (for 280 apartments), the construction of new roads, landscaping work, and the creation of a recreational park.

During the visit, the President reviewed the activities of the “Yangi Yoshlar” service management company operating within the residential development. The company services 161 apartment buildings across the district, 54 of which are located in this complex. Solar panels with a capacity ranging from 5 to 15 kilowatts have been installed on the rooftops of the buildings.

Inclusive education ensures that every child, regardless of physical or intellectual abilities, has the opportunity to attend school and receive a quality education.

The Head of state inspected the conditions created at School No. 66, including the opportunities for children with disabilities. Today, more than 500 students study here. To educate children with special needs, specialized approaches in line with modern standards have been introduced, and about 50 specialized professionals and teachers are employed. The schoolyard, corridors, classrooms, cafeteria, sports hall, and treatment room are equipped with the necessary facilities.

After reviewing the established infrastructure, the President emphasized the importance of fields related to artificial intelligence and digitalization for the lives and future of the youth.

“It is no coincidence that we are introducing artificial intelligence programs into the school curriculum. It is important that students enter universities and the labor market prepared for the professions of the future,” the President noted.

The Head of state then visited the foreign language and information technology training center operating within the residential development.

The 400-seat complex, constructed at a cost of 6.5 billion soums, provides more than two thousand young people annually with opportunities for study and project-based work. Approximately 200 students have successfully completed courses in computer literacy and front-end development and have received certificates. Nearly 150 students have achieved a B2 level or higher in the IELTS examination. The center employs around 20 specialists.

The President specifically noted the importance of such complexes, which are aimed at involving youth in education, including the study of foreign languages.

“Today, it is essential to support the aspirations of such centers and, where necessary, consolidate their efforts and establish partnerships with foreign institutions. This will enable parents to confidently send their children to study at these centers,” said the President.

With the arrival of spring, holding traditional folk festivities has become a well-established tradition across the regions. The President took part in a sumalak sayil in the residential development, shared the festive spirit with residents, and listened to their views.

“Today, the international community regards Uzbekistan with respect, recognizes the conditions being created for our people, and acknowledges the effectiveness of the reforms. The ‘”Yangi O‘zbekiston” residential developments are being built so that our citizens may live in prosperity and comfort. I consistently emphasize the importance of education: through knowledge and creative endeavor, we will further strengthen our country’s standing and secure our rightful place in the world. The people of Surkhandarya are hardworking and generous, many more new initiatives will be implemented here,” said the President.
