President of Uzbekistan highlights importance of expanding multifaceted partnership with the UAE

On May 22, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with a delegation from the United Arab Emirates led by Minister of Cabinet Affairs Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi.

At the beginning of the meeting, the minister conveyed warm greetings to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev from UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, as well as Vice President Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The parties discussed current issues related to the further expansion of multifaceted Uzbek-Emirati cooperation, particularly in enhancing the efficiency of public administration and ensuring the effective implementation of ongoing reforms in this sphere.

They expressed deep satisfaction with the dynamic development of friendly relations and strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and the UAE, as well as with the strengthening of practical cooperation across priority areas.

A joint roadmap covering cooperation in 10 key areas aimed at improving public service mechanisms is being consistently implemented. The UAE’s advanced experience in reducing bureaucracy is being introduced, and a dedicated project office has commenced its work under the relevant program.

The results of the “Five Million Artificial Intelligence Leaders” educational program, which has already engaged more than one million participants, were also highlighted.

Today, an official award ceremony will be held for the winners of the “Performance Assessment of Government Bodies” project. The parties also expressed interest in further expanding the reach of this initiative, including through the involvement of local government representatives.

Plans for the joint launch of a nationwide reading movement were also reviewed.

The parties agreed to continue implementing projects aimed at supporting youth development, organizing joint development forums, and advancing the preparation of strategic and conceptual documents focused on the development of Uzbekistan.
