President of Uzbekistan discusses development of bilateral relations with Prime Minister of Armenia

On October 8, on the sidelines of events in Avaza, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan of Armenia.

The leaders discussed key issues of further expanding multifaceted Uzbek-Armenian relations.

They noted with satisfaction the active contacts at various levels, including the recent political consultations between the two countries.

Mutual trade continues to grow, and 80 enterprises with Armenian capital are successfully operating in Uzbekistan. Direct air service has been established between the capitals.

The leaders emphasized the importance of promoting cooperation projects in agriculture, jewelry, light industry, pharmaceuticals, the chemical industry and tourism.

In this context, they emphasized the importance of successfully holding the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission and organizing joint business events.

The sides also discussed the international agenda and cooperation within multilateral organizations.
