President of Uzbekistan concludes the visit to Slovenia

The program of the official visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the Republic of Slovenia has concluded.

The first Uzbek-Slovenian summit in the last 20 years has marked a new stage in the history of bilateral relations.

During the visit, substantive talks were held with President of the Republic of Slovenia Nataša Pirc Musar, Prime Minister Robert Golob and Speaker of the National Assembly Urška Klakočar-Zupančić.

The sides discussed a wide range of issues covering politics, economy, investments, industrial cooperation, ecology, culture, tourism and education.

A joint statement was adopted, as well as a solid package of intergovernmental and interagency agreements, which consolidated commitments in priority areas.

The visit culminated in an Uzbek-Slovenian business forum with the participation of heads of state and representatives of about 100 leading companies of the two countries.

Minister of Internal Affairs Boštjan Poklukar and other officials escorted the distinguished guest at Ljubljana International Airport. The leader of Uzbekistan left for the city of Tashkent.
