Shavkat Mirziyoyev has been informed about the progress of construction projects in Tashkent.

In recent years, our capital has turned into a huge construction site. Many houses, business centers, enterprises and recreational facilities have been erected. Taking into account further processes of urbanization, large construction projects are now being implemented outside the city.

The Olympic City and New Tashkent are among the most important projects.

On November 9 last year, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev laid the foundation stone for the Olympic City. This facility will occupy 100 hectares, include a track, field and soccer stadium for 10 thousand seats, 6 indoor and 7 outdoor sports facilities, water sports palace, cycling track, complexes for martial arts and team sports. The Asian and Para-Asian Youth Games will be held here in 2025.

The project is being implemented jointly with the Chinese company “CAMC Engineering”, which has experience in building sports facilities in 70 countries around the world. More than a thousand workers, engineers and advanced equipment have been involved in the construction works. To date, the foundation work of 7 main buildings has been fully completed. The next stages of construction are being actively continued.

The construction of another city – New Tashkent – is planned near the town. On March 18 of this year, the President laid its foundation stone. The first stage of the project envisages construction of multi-storey houses for 60 thousand residents, administrative buildings of government agencies, parks, social and economic facilities.

The presentation provides information on the preparatory work being carried out. At present, a directorate for design and coordination of construction of the city has been formed. The boundaries of the city have been marked, their inventory has been carried out together with the Cadastral Agency. Contracts on various stages of infrastructure and architectural design have been concluded with companies from Singapore, Great Britain, Netherlands, Turkiye and local entrepreneurs.

In particular, the project developed by the Singaporean company “Meinhardt group” pays special attention to the location of social facilities, transport links and their connection to the capital.

Moreover, the presentation provided information on the internal architectural design of the Center of Islamic Civilization. The museum of the center will reflect the scientific heritage of our ancestors and thinkers, the atmosphere of historical periods in which they lived.

The President gave additional instructions for timely and quality implementation of the projects.
