President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the fulfillment of the tourism potential of Gissar mountains in Shakhrisabz district.

Tourism – a sector, which creates numerous jobs, facilitates revenue growth of the population and transforms the regions’ landscapes with relatively small investments. Kashkadarya region has vast opportunities for developing this sphere.

In accordance with the decree of the President dated November 28, 2023, major projects are being implemented in the mountain areas of Kashkadarya. In particular, modern objects for receiving tourists are being built in Miraki, Amir Temur, Uloch and Polmon mahallas. On an area of 240 hectares 117 projects are being implemented worth $400 million. It’s expected that 1700 permanent jobs will be created as a result.

The changes occurring in Miraki are a direct result of the adopted decisions and systematic work in the framework of reforms in the tourism sphere.

Before, these picturesque places were used spontaneously, without a unified approach, lacking order and infrastructure, but today there is an integral tourist cluster here – the “Miraki” international tourist center.

The President inspected the improvement of the territory and the conditions created here. Along both banks of the Aksu River there is a 10-kilometer eco-trail for walking and biking. A children’s playground, an amusement park, a recreation area for the elderly, family guest houses and shopping pavilions have been built – all this has given the mahalla a new, well-maintained look.

The “Miraki Spa and Resort” resort area already has two hotels, a shopping and entertainment complex, as well as hotels with 600 beds and a family hostel for 300 people. This creates opportunities to serve over 300 thousand tourists a year.

The President also reviewed the activities of the new hotel and shopping complex, as well as prospective projects in the tourism sector.

– The advantage of Shakhrisabz is that one can come here all year round. We are building roads, bringing communications, creating hotels. Now it is important to expand the range of services. What will a tourist do in Miraki? What will he do, what will he buy? Based on this, we need to form proposals and actively promote natural and infrastructural opportunities of the region abroad, – emphasized Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

To attract tourists to the new tourism center engineering and communication networks have been laid out. The roads leading to Miraki and inside the mahalla have been renewed, the electricity supply has been improved. To make recreation even more attractive, in the area of the Hissarak reservoir there is a cable car over two kilometers long and a restaurant at an altitude of 2700 meters above sea level.

Owing to these conditions, the flow of tourists to Kashkadarya is increasing noticeably. Last year, the region received more than 2.5 million tourists, of which almost half a million visited Shakhrisabz district.

Taking into account the ongoing transformations, this figure is projected to grow many times over.
