On September 18, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the Chairwoman of the American-Uzbek Chamber of Commerce Carolyn Lamm as part of his working visit to the United States.
The heads of GE Healthcare, Oppenheimer, Cerberus, CNH and Cintana also attended the meeting. The President congratulated the participants of the meeting on the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the U.S.-Uzbek Chamber of Commerce, emphasizing the key role of this structure in expanding bilateral trade, economic and investment cooperation.
The participants noted with great satisfaction the fruitful results of the Joint Business Forum held on September 15 this year in Washington, D.C. The representatives of more than 250 companies and banks of the United States attended the Forum.
The Chairwoman of the American-Uzbek Chamber of Commerce Carolyn Lamm expressed sincere gratitude to the Head of our State for political will in implementing the program of irreversible reforms in Uzbekistan, which contributes to the growth of interest and trust of American business in the country. It has been noted that over the past few years, the major US companies have joined the Chamber, and their total number reaching 50.
During the meeting, the sides discussed concrete American business plans to expand its activities in our country.
Following the meeting, agreements were reached on the adoption of “road maps” for the implementation of joint projects.
