Upon arrival in Islamabad, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the headquarters of the company Global Industrial & Defence Solutions, where he held a meeting with the Chief of Army Staff of the Pakistan Armed Forces, Field Marshal Asim Munir.
Key aspects of the further development of multifaceted Uzbek-Pakistani cooperation and the strategic partnership were reviewed.
Special attention was paid to expanding interaction in the military and military-technical spheres, as well as coordinating efforts to counter modern challenges and security threats.
The importance of strengthening cooperative ties between leading enterprises of the two countries’ defence-industrial complexes was emphasized, including the expansion of training programs for military specialists, the exchange of experience, and the conduct of joint training exercises.
Issues related to accelerating the implementation of promising infrastructure projects in the transport and logistics sector were given particular attention.
An agreement was reached to prepare a separate roadmap for the development of military and military-technical cooperation.
Following the meeting, the President of Uzbekistan familiarised himself with the developments of Global Industrial & Defence Solutions, including samples of modern Pakistani military equipment and armaments.
