On June 10 President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Prime Minister of the Azerbaijan Republic Ali Asadov, who’s currently in our country for participating in Tashkent international investment forum.
In the beginning of the meeting the distinguished guest passed to the Leader of Uzbekistan sincere greetings and warm regards of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
Topical issues of the further expansion and strengthening of Uzbek-Azerbaijani relations of friendship, strategic partnership and alliance were reviewed.
The jointly conducted fruitful work within the framework of the Year of Economic Cooperation was noted with satisfaction. Trade volumes are increasing, and cooperation projects in various sectors of the economy are in an active phase, including those supported by the joint Investment Company. Active cultural and humanitarian exchange also continues.
The importance of maintaining close practical interaction at the government level was emphasized to monitor the implementation of agreements and generate new initiatives ahead of the upcoming high-level summit.
In this context, the need to ensure high effectiveness of the upcoming session of the Intergovernmental Commission and the Regional Forum of the two countries was highlighted.
