In the framework of Tashkent investment forum and Foreign Investors Council program, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation headed by the governor of Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) Nobumitsu Hayashi.
Issues of expanding practical cooperation and promoting joint projects with this leading Japanese financial institute were reviewed.
The contribution of JBIC in the development and modernization of our country’s key economic sectors was noted with satisfaction.
Currently the joint projects portfolio reached nearly $4 billion, including in such fields as oil and chemicals, textile industries, energy, information technologies, infrastructure and other areas.
The importance was underscored on the soonest preparation and promotion of cooperation projects with participation of Japanese companies in the sphere of green energy, IT, transport and healthcare in the framework of the new three-year cooperation program.
The significance of adopting practical measures on the opening of Japanese international university in Uzbekistan was underlined.
In conclusion of the talks, an agreement was reached on adopting a comprehensive “road map”.
