President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the acting minister of industry and trade of Afghanistan Nuriddin Azizi, who’s participating in the events of Tashkent international investment forum.
In the beginning of the meeting the minister passed to the President of Uzbekistan sincere greetings from Afghanistan’s leadership.
Issues of further expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation in trade and economic, transport and logistics, energy and agriculture spheres, as well as in geological exploration and mineral extraction, were reviewed.
Activation of the business contacts was noted with satisfaction. The mutual trade turnover volumes, number of joint enterprises are growing, business missions and exhibitions with participation of companies from the two countries are regularly held. International trade center in the city of Termez is successfully functioning. Trade houses were open in Kabul and Mazar-i Sharif in May this year.
The Leader of Uzbekistan underlined the importance of further strengthening legal and regulatory framework of economic and investment cooperation.
The need for a speedy construction of the “Khayraton” industrial center and accommodating there enterprises for manufacturing of pharmaceutical products, furniture, textiles, construction materials, and processing of agricultural products
Support was expressed for implementing regional infrastructure projects, including the construction of Trans-Afghan railway and “Surkhan – Puli-Khumri” power line.
