President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Institute of National Variety Art named after Botir Zokirov at the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan.

The educational institution was established based on the decree of the head of state on December 2, 2020, as part of the celebration of the 85th anniversary of the birth of People’s Artist of Uzbekistan Botir Zokirov. The main objectives of the Institute are the development of national variety art, the training of talented performers and educators, and the creation of modern musical works based on cultural and scientific heritage.

Last year, a new 500-seat building for the institute was constructed and put into operation. It provides all the necessary conditions for study and creativity, with classrooms equipped with the required musical instruments and equipment.

The Institute trains specialists in the fields of vocal and instrumental performance, technogenic art, composition, art history and conducting. At present, there are 479 students studying here, and classes are conducted by professors, teachers and People’s Artists.

The President observed the educational process and had conversations with the teachers and students.

“First of all, I congratulate all of you, our young art lovers, on this institution. Why are we carrying out this work? To show the world the great heritage of our art and to see what our youth is capable of. It is not by chance that we named the Institute after Botir Zokirov, who was a phenomenon in our national art. We want to raise his worthy successors here and bring out their talents”, said the Head of state.

The library of the educational institution contains over eight thousand books and orchestral scores. A research center has also been established to conduct scientific, applied and creative research into the national variety art.
