Presidents of Uzbekistan and Mongolia Agree on Further Steps to Deepen Mutually Beneficial Cooperation

On December 1, as part of a working visit to the UAE, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa.

During the meeting, relevant issues of further development of Uzbek-Mongolian relations based on traditional friendship and multi-faceted cooperation were discussed.

Special attention was given to the practical implementation of the high-level agreements reached at the meeting in Samarkand in September last year.

The positive dynamics in mutual trade were noted with satisfaction. There are broad opportunities and potential for cooperation in the fields of livestock, food, leather, agriculture, textiles and other sectors.

Interest was expressed in enhancing the contractual and legal framework in areas such as automotive and air transportation, tourism exchange and strengthening interregional and cultural-humanitarian ties.

It was agreed to hold the first meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Committee and Business Council next year.

It was further agreed that a “roadmap” for the further expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation will be adopted based on the outcomes of the current meeting.
