President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited a military unit during his visit to Surkhandarya region.
The large-scale reforms being implemented in the country’s defense system are serving as an important factor in strengthening the combat capability of the troops and enhancing the effectiveness of military-administrative sectors.
All necessary conditions for combat training have been created at the military unit. Training facilities, a canteen, sleeping quarters, spirituality and enlightenment rooms, and a sports complex are equipped with modern technology and equipment.
Today, artificial intelligence, robotics, missile systems, drones, and counter-drone technologies are widely used in regional conflicts. In this regard, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief set tasks to establish new units within the Armed Forces for the operation and countering of unmanned aerial vehicles, develop cyber units specializing in artificial intelligence, and expand the use of robotic equipment and air defense systems.
Systematic efforts are underway in this area, and the national army is being supplied with modern weapons and military equipment.
The Head of state reviewed the conditions created at the military unit, as well as the available military equipment and armaments, including modern air defense systems.
It was emphasized that, in determining priority areas for the development of the national army, it is essential to take into account the characteristics of modern armed conflicts, existing security threats, and the specific features of potential theatres of military operations.
Instructions were given to the responsible officials to ensure the consistent implementation of measures aimed at strengthening the Armed Forces’ potential, reinforcing the material and technical base, and enhancing personnel readiness.
