During the official visit to the Russian Federation, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the city of Kazan.
The Head of our state welcomed the high results of fruitful cooperation achieved in recent years. The volume of bilateral trade and investment is increasing. The chemical industrial technopark “Chirchik” in Tashkent region is successfully operating, and construction of a technopark in Jizzakh region is continuing.
Major projects of cooperation in the chemical industry and mechanical engineering are being implemented as well. A branch of Kazan Federal University is functioning in the city of Jizzakh.
The outcomes of the Third Forum of Interregional Cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia, held on the previous day in the city of Kazan were noted. Particularly, agreements on creating new industrial parks in cooperation with the Russian technoparks “Alabuga” and “Master” in the regions of Uzbekistan were on the focus.
The issues of the implementation of prospective cooperation projects in metalworking, the field of information and communication, housing and communal services as well as expanding cooperation in the spheres of education, tourism and youth policy were discussed.
Following the meeting, an agreement on the promotion of practical partnership projects in key areas on the basis of joint “road maps” was reached.
