On December 21, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Jeenbek Kulubaev, who is on a visit to our country.
The issues of further strengthening Uzbek-Kyrgyz relations of friendship, good-neighbourliness and comprehensive strategic partnership, filling them with concrete content were discussed.
At the beginning of the meeting, Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev conveyed to the Head of our State sincere greetings and best wishes of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov.
The Uzbek Leader noted with deep satisfaction the high level and fruitful nature of bilateral cooperation achieved in recent years, including the notable intensification of contacts and exchanges at the level of parliaments, governments, regions, public and business circles.
The Intergovernmental Commission is fully operational and the Uzbek-Kyrgyz Development Fund is working effectively. Trade and cargo flows are increasing, and cooperation projects are being implemented in the engineering, electrical, textile, agricultural and other sectors. Joint cultural and humanitarian events are regularly conducted.
The importance of further intensive political dialogue and accelerated implementation of priority programmes and projects, including the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, was underlined.
