Welcoming address by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the festivities dedicated to the national holiday of Navruz

21 Mar 2026

Dear compatriots!

Distinguished guests!

In this beautiful season, as the world is filled with the light and warmth of spring, the Eastern New Year – Navruz – arrives on our blessed land.

Today, we celebrate Navruz together with the sacred Ramadan Hayit, as if two great rivers have merged into a single stream.

I sincerely congratulate you, our entire multinational people, on these wonderful holidays – symbols of nature’s awakening and spiritual renewal.

I also extend my heartfelt congratulations to our compatriots working and studying abroad, and wish them all the very best.

May Navruz bring peace and happiness to our land!

Dear friends!

Our hearts, long awaiting the arrival of spring, beat in unison with the rhythm of a new day and a new life.

Thanks to generous rains, rivers and lakes have been filled with life-giving water. Gardens, mountains, and plains are turning green, heralding a fertile year.

Across cities and villages, valleys and oases, folk festivities and cultural performances are beginning.

During the days of Navruz, our national unity and creative potential are revealed even more vividly.

Remaining committed to the values of Navruz, we are placing even greater emphasis on ensuring a dignified life for every compatriot, regardless of nationality, language, or religion.

As a reflection of this, this year’s celebration is being held under the motto: “To glorify Navruz is to glorify humanity!”

We have begun large-scale efforts to bring the spirit of the New Uzbekistan to all our regions, villages, auls, and mahallas.

We are taking important steps to create jobs, reduce poverty, and strengthen social protection. New modern enterprises, communication networks, comfortable housing, and facilities for education, healthcare, culture, and sports are being developed. In the future, we will further expand the scale of these efforts.

In this season of renewal, we all express our deep respect to our skilled dehkans and farmers. We wish you new successes in your noble work, upon which the prosperity and abundance of our homes depend. Indeed, it is your tireless labor that ensures the prosperity of our nation. In this, the state and society will always support you.

Esteemed compatriots!

The New Uzbekistan is becoming an arena of high achievements and great victories for our youth.

I was once again convinced of this, during my recent meeting with young people. Across all spheres, new names and new heroes are emerging – in education, science, culture and the arts, sports, IT, and business.

We are all rightfully proud of such an educated, energetic, and constantly striving young generation.

My dear young people, you have been granted the great happiness and high honor of becoming the creators of the Third Renaissance. Undoubtedly, you are capable of realizing this great dream, to which many generations of our ancestors have aspired.

If you value today’s peaceful life, the great opportunities that have been created, and the dedicated efforts of your parents, teachers, and mentors, and if you study diligently, work on yourselves, expand your knowledge, and improve your skills, then a bright future will open up to you. On this path, we are ready to create all the necessary conditions for you.

If you live for the sake of the Motherland, for your nation and the people, then the Motherland and the people will duly recognize your efforts!

Dear young people, you are the golden generation of the New Uzbekistan. Always be purposeful and carry the flag of our country high!

Esteemed compatriots!

When we speak of the mahalla, the beautiful image of our native land comes to mind. In the Year of Mahalla Development and Social Prosperity, we are implementing large-scale programs and plans with sincere hopes.

I am convinced that our esteemed veterans, members of the “mahalla seven,” and active citizens will take an active part in this work – strengthening an atmosphere of peace, mutual respect and kindness in families and society, addressing social issues at the local level, and promoting the principles of humanism and justice in practice.

Taking this opportunity, I sincerely congratulate the chairpersons and activists of local self-government bodies, as well as all our compatriots, on the Day of Mahalla System Workers, which will be celebrated tomorrow, and wish them continued success.

Dear friends!

Navruz has served as a spiritual bridge among peoples for millennia. In these turbulent times, the ideals of peace, friendship, and cooperation embodied in it are becoming increasingly relevant.

Representatives of more than 130 nations and nationalities living in our country celebrate this holiday as one big family, in a joyful spirit. Such friendship, mutual respect, and solidarity serve as the most reliable guarantee for building the New Uzbekistan.

We will mobilize all our forces and resources to further strengthen interethnic and interfaith harmony in our society.  Together with our fraternal neighboring countries, we will move toward a united Central Asia, prioritizing the enhancement of the region’s status as a bastion of peace, brotherhood, and cooperation.

Taking this opportunity, I sincerely congratulate the esteemed ambassadors of foreign states and representatives of international organizations present at our celebration on the occasion of the International Day of Navruz, and wish prosperity to their countries and peoples.

Dear friends!

In these wonderful moments, addressing all of you, our entire nation, I would like to say: my dears, just look at how beautiful our country is, how generous and blessed our land is, how unique our nature is!

But the greatest value is our hardworking, kind-hearted, and noble people, who for centuries have carefully preserved all these riches.

If we cherish the blessings bestowed by the Almighty – our land, water, and other resources – and use them wisely, our opportunities will undoubtedly multiply.

By continuing our ancient traditions, planting trees, cultivating gardens, and beautifying our homes and mahallas, we will make our lives even more beautiful and prosperous!

Let us reaffirm that we are a people striving to reach great heights based on good-neighborliness, the spirit of friendship, and our noble achievements!

Together, even more united, we will create a new life, a new history, a new future!

Dear compatriots!

Once again, I sincerely congratulate you, our entire nation, on the occasion of Navruz – the holiday of spring and renewal.

May the Navruz of the New Uzbekistan be a time of growth and progress for our country!

May all our good dreams and hopes come true!

May the Almighty always protect our beloved Motherland!
