Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan summit concludes

The state visit of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to Uzbekistan has concluded.

On the first day of the visit, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held talks in a narrow format with his Azerbaijani counterpart. This was followed by the third meeting of the Supreme Interstate Council. The historic Treaty on Eternal Friendship and a substantial package of documents were signed, and a number of joint projects were launched. The heads of state were awarded the highest state honors of the two countries.

As part of the visit, the President of Azerbaijan was briefed on the New Tashkent project. The heads of state attended the opening ceremony of the new campus of the Nizami National Pedagogical University of Uzbekistan and the launch of the Azerbaijan Park project in New Tashkent.

Today, the summit continued in Bukhara. The heads of state and their spouses toured the historic landmarks of the ancient city.

The distinguished guests were briefed on the potential of Bukhara Region in areas including digitalization, light industry, and electrical engineering.

At the conclusion of the visit, President Ilham Aliyev and the First Lady of Azerbaijan were seen off at Bukhara International Airport by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the First Lady of Uzbekistan.

The President of Uzbekistan then concluded his visit to Bukhara and returned to Tashkent.
