At a meeting with the mass media representatives, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Mongolia Ukhnaagiin Khürelsükh shared their assessments of the talks.
At the beginning of his speech, the Head of our state sincerely congratulated the friendly Mongolian people on the upcoming national holiday – People’s Revolution Day.
– We sincerely rejoice at the impressive successes and achievements of our Mongolian friends in carrying out socio-economic reforms and fully support your peace-loving foreign policy, – said the Leader of our country.
It was emphasized that today Mongolia is showing steadily high rates of economic growth. Industries, agricultural sector, infrastructure are being modernized in the country. A large-scale reconstruction of the city of Kharkhorin has begun. Thanks to a consistent, pragmatic and proactive policy, the country’s international prestige is increasing.
It was particularly noted that the first visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Mongolia has become a historic event in the development of relations of friendship and multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.
The Leader of Uzbekistan emphasized that one of the key outcomes of the visit was the signing of an important document – the Joint declaration on comprehensive partnership, which launches a new stage in Uzbek-Mongolian cooperation.
It was stated that all major issues and promising areas of practical interaction have been thoroughly considered during the talks, and specific tasks and plans for the future have been defined.
It was stated that contacts in all areas have intensified after last year’s summit in Tashkent. The first meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission was held fruitfully in February this year.
It was agreed to continue close work and mutual support within the framework of the United Nations, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and other multilateral structures.
According to the President of Uzbekistan, the main focus of the talks was on economic cooperation. Tasks have been set to multiply the volume of trade turnover in the coming years, primarily by expanding the range and volume of supplies of demanded products. It was emphasized that the opening of a trade house with a showroom of Uzbek products in Ulaanbaatar will become a physical base for this work.
It was noted with satisfaction that on the eve of the visit, a business forum and meetings of entrepreneurs of Uzbekistan and Mongolia have been successfully held, and new contracts and agreements have been signed. The heads of state agreed to further create all conditions for business and support their initiatives in every possible way.
In this context, arrangements have been reached to adopt agreements on preferential trade and mutual protection of investments as soon as possible.
In addition, during the talks, specific areas of industrial cooperation in the sectors where the economies of the two countries can effectively complement each other were defined.
These include the implementation of projects in the field of mining and processing of mineral resources, agriculture, animal husbandry, cooperation in the light industry, including deep processing of wool, leather and many other areas.
As landlocked countries, it was agreed to jointly develop effective transportation routes with wide involvement of experts. It was noted that direct flights between the capitals will be launched from the fall of this year.
An agreement was reached to continue active exchanges in culture, education and tourism. These days, Ulaanbaatar is hosting the Days of Culture of Uzbekistan and meetings of tourism organizations of the two countries.
The sides have agreed to hold mutual concerts, exhibitions, movie screenings, participate in festivals on a regular basis.
The Head of our state has also expressed readiness to resume the education of Mongolian youth in Uzbekistan’s leading universities within the framework of allocated quotas.
It has been emphasized that a comprehensive road map will be adopted by the two governments for timely and qualitative implementation of the agreements reached and signed.
At the end, the Leader of our country informed about the invitation of the President of Mongolia to pay an official visit to Uzbekistan.
