On June 28, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Emir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani discussed topical issues of accelerating the practical implementation of agreements reached during the state visit to Uzbekistan in June.
At the outset of the telephone conversation, the Leaders exchanged heartfelt congratulations on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, the holy feast of the entire Muslim Ummah, and conveyed their sincere wishes for peace, well-being, prosperity and sustainable development to the peoples of the two countries.
It has been unanimously agreed that the Samarkand Summit had raised the bilateral relations to a qualitatively new level by giving them with concrete substance.
The leaders have discussed the implementation of joint decisions in trade and economic, investment, transport and communications, cultural and humanitarian spheres. The importance of promoting projects in green energy, finance, infrastructure, transport and logistics, construction and other sectors was underlined.
There was also an exchange of views on the most topical issues on the international and regional agenda.
