Coverage of emergency medical care urged to be expanded

Within his working tour around Tashkent, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has visited the National Scientific Center for Emergency Medical Aid.

A new building for 75 beds is being built here for the departments of cardiac surgery, transplantology and vascular neurosurgery. As a result, working conditions meeting international standards are said to be delivered here, with growing frequency of surgeries.

These departments are expected to be able to offer hi-tech emergency medical care to an additional three thousand patients a year. Doctors ready to start working here have raised their qualifications in leading healthcare and research institutions in Austria, Turkey and Japan.

In addition, specialists of the department for interventional procedures are anticipated to perform annually more than a thousand minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for acute coronary syndrome and acute circulatory disorders of the brain.

The block will also have an intensive care unit, intensive care beds, practice rooms, a diagnostic department with hi-tech equipment. The new building is to be commissioned in 2021.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev inspected the construction site. Stressing that this institution is primarily a research center, he noted the need to expand the coverage of qualified services. The head of our state gave directives to establish interaction with primary care system, invite scientists from abroad, organize mechanisms for exchanging views with local doctors.
