In a telephone conversation held on June 29, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev warmly congratulated the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on his birthday, sincerely wishing him strong health, family happiness and well-being, peace and prosperity of fraternal Turkmenistan.
The Head of our state emphasized Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov’s personal contribution to the establishment and sustainable development of modern Turkmenistan, enhancement of the country’s international prestige, as well as strengthening of Uzbek-Turkmen relations of friendship, good-neighborliness and strategic partnership.
The national leader of the Turkmen people conveyed to the President of Uzbekistan the greetings of President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
The unprecedentedly high level of bilateral cooperation achieved in recent years, primarily due to regular meetings between the leaders of our two countries, was noted with particular satisfaction.
Close and fruitful interagency contacts are maintained, the volume of trade turnover and cargo transportation is growing. Important cooperation projects are being implemented, including the completion of the construction of the “Shavat-Dashoguz” cross-border trade zone. Active cultural and humanitarian exchange is carried out. A regular meeting of the joint intergovernmental commission, interregional forum and business council are scheduled.
Topical aspects of regional interaction, including preparations for the upcoming seventh Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia in Tashkent in September this year, were also discussed.
