Issues of further development of Uzbek-Pakistani relations of multifaceted cooperation and strategic partnership in the context of implementing agreements reached during the visit of Pakistan’s Prime Minister to Uzbekistan in February this year, were discussed.
The activation of mutual contacts and exchanges on various levels has been noted with satisfaction. Since the beginning of the year, the volume of trade turnover grew by 23 percent, cargo transportation – by 50 percent. Trade houses are open in the cities of Karachi and Lahore. The frequency of direct flights has been increased.
Issues of practical cooperation in military and military-technical spheres were reviewed, including in the field of combating modern challenges and security risks.
Special attention was paid to the soonest practical implementation of the provisions of the signed trilateral agreement on the Trans-Afghan railroad construction project.
