In the framework of the anniversary events of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, on September 22 President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received at his residence Special Envoy of the U.S. President for South and Central Asian affairs Sergio Gor.
In the beginning of the meeting the special envoy passed sincere greetings of the President of the USA Donald Trump.
Issues of further strengthening Uzbek-American relations of strategic partnership in the context of implementing agreements reached during a telephone conversation between the leaders of the two countries held on September 5 this year, were discussed.
The intensive political dialogue, exchanges of delegations at various levels, as well as the growing dynamics of business contacts, was noted with satisfaction.
These days in New York City, many fruitful meetings and events have been held with leading U.S. companies. A portfolio of contracts and promising projects worth over $100 billion has been formed, particularly in the fields of civil aviation, mining, finance and innovation, chemicals, energy and other priority areas.
The importance of utilizing the opportunities of the U.S. Eximbank and the DFC Fund to support and promote new projects, as well as establishing a joint Coordination committee to accelerate their implementation, was emphasized.
Special attention was also given to cooperation in the areas of security, combating terrorism, and illegal migration.
