The working visit to Qatar concludes

The working visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the State of Qatar has concluded.

As part of the program, the Head of our state took part in the Second World Summit on Social Development, where he put forward a number of important initiatives aimed at further strengthening global partnerships for sustainable and inclusive social progress and improving socio-economic development.

In Doha, the leader of our country also held productive talks with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

At the Hamad International Airport the President of Uzbekistan was seen off by the deputy Prime Minister, Qatar’s Minister of State for Defense Sheikh Saoud bin Abdurahman Al Thani and other officials.

At the invitation of the President of the United States Donald Trump, the leader of our country departed to Washington D.C., where he will participate in the summit of the leaders of Central Asian states and the United States in “C5+1” format.

In accordance with the program of his visit, the President of our country will hold meetings with the President of the United States Donald Trump, representatives of the Senate and House of Representatives of the Congress, as well as heads of US ministries and agencies.

Issues related to the further expansion and strengthening of Uzbek-American strategic partnership relations will be discussed, primarily in the trade, economic, investment, and humanitarian spheres, as well as the deepening of interregional cooperation between Central Asia and the US.

The business program includes meetings and events with the participation of leaders of major American companies and financial institutions.

Following the events, a number of bilateral and multilateral documents are expected to be adopted.
