On November 11, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed proposals to improve efficiency in the field of ecology and environmental protection.
In recent years, our country has been implementing large-scale initiatives to protect nature, improve air quality, increase green areas, and adapt to climate change. However, the existing management system remains fragmented: responsibilities and powers are distributed among various departments, which reduces the effectiveness of the measures taken.
In this regard, proposals to improve management in this area were considered at the meeting.
It was proposed to concentrate the implementation and financing of environmental projects aimed at improving the state of the environment and atmospheric air in cities, expanding green areas, developing an environmental culture, and preserving natural heritage within a single management system. The importance of ensuring the targeted and transparent use of resources was noted.
Plans were presented to strengthen environmental control and expand the powers of relevant agencies. Mechanisms for responding promptly to violations, preventing illegal logging and air pollution, expanding public participation in environmental oversight, and measures to improve environmental regulation in industry and ensure the preservation of green areas in populated areas were considered.
The President approved the proposals and instructed to further refine them in the context of enhancing the quality and effectiveness of management, strengthening control and accountability in the field.
