The President visited the enterprises of the Bunyodkor cotton-textile cluster in the Koson District.
Based on the cluster approach put forward by the President, a complete production chain of cultivation and deep processing of cotton has been created in this region. As a part of the first project, approximately 21 billion Uzbek soums were invested, and a high-tech garment factory was established.
Being equipped with Turkish and Italian equipment, the enterprise is capable of manufacturing 6 million ready-made knitwear. It is expected to spend almost 100 billion Uzbek soums on clothing industry and to export ready-made garments amounting to over $2 million.
The current number of women working at the factory is 320. The President has talked to them and wished them success in their work.
By July this year, the yarn and fabric production facilities shall be launched in the cluster and by December – the fat-and-oil enterprise shall be commissioned. About 700 jobs will be created here.
During his visit, the President has had a conversation with industry specialists and the heads of cotton-textile clusters.
«We have taken the first and modest step towards the implementation of the cluster system. Now we are able to work according to quality, prices and market. Thus, it is necessary to organize trips and exhibitions of our clusters abroad», the President has said.
It was recommended to boost production and effective use of synthetic fibres and the yield of cotton for the sustainable supply of textile enterprises with raw materials.
