On June 29, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with the Chairman of Khalq Maslakhati Milliy Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimukhamedov.
At the beginning of the conversation, the President has cordially congratulated Gurbanguly Berdimukhamedov on his 65th anniversary, sincerely wishing him a sound health, well-being and success, peace and prosperity to the brotherly people of Turkmenistan.
A significant contribution of Gurbanguly Berdimukhamedov to establishing a modern Turkmenistan, raising authority in the international arena, strengthening the Uzbek-Turkmen relations of friendship, good neighborliness and strategic partnership has been particularly underscored.
In the context of preparing for the upcoming visit of President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimukhamedov to Uzbekistan, the issues of further enhancing the multifaceted cooperation between the two countries have been discussed.
A particular attention has been paid to the promotion of joint projects of cooperation in trade, industry, transport, logistics, energy, agriculture, as well as strengthening interregional contacts, cultural and humanitarian exchanges.
An exchange of views on the current issues of regional interaction, including maintaining peace, social and economic recovery in Afghanistan, also took place.
The President of Uzbekistan has sincerely wished a successful holding of the Sixth Caspian Summit being held these days in the capital city of Turkmenistan.
