On August 31, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov.
The leaders of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan exchanged the sincere congratulations on the occasion of widely celebrated on these days the national holiday – the Independence Day, and wishing peace, success and prosperity to the fraternal peoples.
The consistent strengthening of friendship, good neighborliness and strategic partnership, the dynamic development of multifaceted cooperation between the two countries was noted with particular satisfaction.
Since the beginning of the year, the trade turnover has grown by 30%. The active interregional exchanges are ongoing, joint projects of industrial cooperation are being implemented, as well as the transport links are expanding. The important cultural and humanitarian events are being held.
During the conversation, an agreement was reached to hold a regular meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on the Delimitation and Demarcation of the State Border in September this year.
The main attention was paid to the promotion of priority regional infrastructure projects in transport and energy, including the construction of the Kambarata HPP-1.
The Presidents also discussed the issues of deepening interaction in Central Asia and the agenda of the upcoming Samarkand SCO Summit.
