On October 10, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the sports complex «Humo Arena» and watched Judo World Championship.
This is a major tournament, which does not surpass in prestige only the Olympic Games. 571 judokas from 82 countries participate in the championship, which is being held in our country for the first time. The national team of Uzbekistan includes 18 men and women.
The President watched the final men’s competition in the weight category up to 90 kilograms. Our compatriot Davlat Bobonov neutralized his Italian opponent Christian Parlati, getting the first medal for Uzbekistan. This event has become another remarkable success of the national sport.
