Presidents of Uzbekistan and Russia Discuss Issues of Development of Practical Cooperation

On January 4, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

The leaders considered the issues of further deepening the Uzbek-Russian relations of comprehensive strategic partnership.

The sides noted with satisfaction the dynamics of bilateral trade and economic cooperation, including the growth of mutual trade turnover, increase in the number of joint ventures and cooperation projects involving leading companies of Uzbekistan and Russia.

The parties stressed the importance of continuing intensive contacts between the regions of the two countries, making effective use of the opportunities offered by the annually held Tashkent international exhibition «Innoprom. Central Asia», as well as the Uzbek-Russian Forum of the regions.

A special emphasis has been placed on the issues of the expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation in oil and gas sector.

The President also highly appreciated the productive outcomes of the CIS informal summit in St. Petersburg on December 26-27, 2022.

The telephone conversation between leaders of Uzbekistan and Russia has been held in a traditionally warm, friendly and business atmosphere.
