Leaders of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan highlight the importance of accelerating joint cooperation projects

On March 18, a telephone conversation was held between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.

At the beginning of the conversation, the heads of state exchanged heartfelt congratulations on the upcoming holiday of Navruz, sincerely wishing each other health, wellbeing and success, peace and prosperity to the fraternal peoples of the two countries.

The President of Uzbekistan also congratulated the leader of Tajikistan on the successful completion of negotiations and the signing of an agreement on the delimitation of the Tajik-Kyrgyz state border.

Particular attention was paid to the practical implementation of previously adopted agreements and arrangements at the highest level.

The importance of continuing an active political dialogue, supporting and promoting cooperation projects in priority sectors of the economy, intensive cultural, humanitarian and interregional exchange programs was noted.

The issues of preparation for the upcoming trilateral meeting in Tajikistan at the end of March and the summits in the “Central Asia Plus” format in our country in April-May this year were considered.
