On May 26-27, at the invitation of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin will pay a state visit to our country.
The programme of the visit envisages high-level negotiations.
The agenda of the forthcoming meeting includes further development and deepening of Uzbek-Russian relations of comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance.
Special attention will be paid to the expansion of practical cooperation, in particular the increase of mutual trade turnover, the promotion of cooperative projects in the economic sectors, the support of innovative cooperation programmes, and the continuation of active cultural and humanitarian exchanges.
Following the summit, it is planned to adopt a package of bilateral documents.
The leaders will also participate in the first meeting of the Council of Regions of Uzbekistan and Russia.
It should be noted that on the eve of the visit, a number of joint events are held in Tashkent – a meeting of the rectors of leading engineering universities, a scientific and practical medical conference, and the Week of Russian Art.
