On June 29, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held telephone conversation with the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
At the beginning of the conversation, the Head of our state cordially congratulated Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on his birthday, sincerely wishing him good health, well-being, great successes, peace and prosperity to the fraternal Turkmen people.
Particularly noteworthy has been his remarkable contribution to the development of modern Turkmenistan and strengthening Uzbek-Turkmen relations of friendship, good neighborliness and strategic partnership.
The leaders of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan exchanged sincere congratulations on the occasion of the sacred holiday of Kurban Hayit (“Iyd al-Adha”). The President of Uzbekistan also congratulated Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the official opening of the new city of Arkadag.
During the telephone conversation, the two sides discussed issues of further development of multifaceted cooperation between the two countries in trade, investment, industry, energy, agriculture and transport. The sides noted the intensification of fruitful contacts at all levels, including interregional and cultural-humanitarian exchanges.
Current aspects of regional cooperation have been discussed.
