At the invitation of the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, on November 3-4, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev will pay a working visit to Qatar to participate in the Second World Summit for Social Development.
The event will address issues related to closing existing gaps in socio-economic development, upholding the goals and principles of the Copenhagen Declaration on Social Development, and accelerating the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
Special attention will be given to strengthening international cooperation, improving national strategies, and implementing comprehensive measures aimed at enhancing the resilience, social justice, and inclusivity of societies.
The World Summit for Social Development is intended to serve as a crucial platform for constructive dialogue among states, international and regional organizations, UN system bodies, civil society institutions, and the expert and business communities.
The main objective of the forum is to intensify global efforts to eradicate poverty, promote full and productive employment, ensure decent working conditions, and enhance social integration amid contemporary challenges and growing interdependence.
Following the summit, the adoption of the Doha Declaration is planned, aimed at further strengthening international partnerships and developing coordinated approaches to achieve the goals of sustainable and inclusive social progress.
