On December 6, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov.
At the beginning of the conversation, the President cordially congratulated the President of Kyrgyzstan on his birthday, sincerely wishing him a sound health, well-being and great success, as well as peace and prosperity for the brotherly people of Kyrgyzstan.
It was noted with deep satisfaction that, in accordance with the top-level agreements, the Uzbek-Kyrgyz relations of good neighborliness and strategic partnership are consistently strengthening, as well as the multifaceted cooperation is dynamically developing between our countries.
It was emphasized that the recent conclusion and ratification of significant bilateral documents, the «Agreement on Separate Sections of the State Border» and the «Agreement on the Joint Management of Water Resources of the Andijan Reservoir», would contribute to the deepening of practical cooperation, the sustainable development of our states and the entire region.
In addition, the indicators of mutual trade continue to grow – since the beginning of the year, the volume of trade turnover has reached $1 billion for the first time. The Uzbek-Kyrgyz Development Fund has been launched, as well as a number of cooperation projects are being jointly implemented in the fields of industry, energy, electrical engineering, agriculture, transport and other sectors.
An active preparation of large regional projects for the construction of the Uzbekistan-Kyrgyzstan-China railway and the Kambar-Ata hydroelectric power station is underway.
The Presidents stressed the importance of expanding the portfolio of trade contracts and investment programs to qualitatively broaden the agenda of the upcoming contacts.
The telephone conversation between the Presidents of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan was held in a traditionally warm and friendly atmosphere.
