The President got acquainted with the construction of the tourist center «Silk Road Samarkand».
A huge complex is being built along the rowing canal in Samarkand District. The cost of the project is $381 million. The construction of eight hotels, Congress Center and a caravansary «Eternal City» is in progress. The two 22-storey hotels will be a five-star and the rest – a four-star.
After a familiarization with the sites, the instructions were given to develop a wide range of modern services on the ground.
«We have many architectural monuments that attract the attention of tourists. Nevertheless, the range of services is limited and the quality is low. It is necessary to establish a multifunctional service in this center. Students who study tourism must come here and practice», Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
The President also visited the caravansary «Eternal City». The ancient cities of our country will be recreated here. The traditions of architecture, the applied art, national cuisine of our country and the atmosphere of ancient oriental bazaars will be revived.
«This venue shall become the embodiment of our history and culture, people will visit it with their families. Therefore, the decoration and color design of the buildings must correspond to national traditions. The craftsmen’s shops can be established in the courtyard of the caravansary», said the President.
