On July 24, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with the Chairman of the Khalq Maslakhaty Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimukhamedov.
On behalf of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimukhamedov and brotherly Turkmen people, the Chairman of Khalq Maslakhaty has cordially congratulated the President on his birthday, warmly wishing peace, well-being, sustainable development and prosperity for Uzbekistan.
The issues of further strengthening the Uzbek-Turkmen relations of friendship, good neighborliness and strategic partnership have been discussed.
The fruitful outcomes of the high-level visit to Uzbekistan held on July 14-15 this year have been highly appreciated. The importance of the following projects has been emphasized, such as the practical implementation of the reached agreements based on the «road map», the medium-term Industrial Cooperation Program, the project for establishing the cross-border trade zone, contracts and agreements on the outcomes of the First Forum of Regions and the Business Council.
The active contacts and exchanges through an established and effective inter-parliamentary dialogue have been noted with particular satisfaction.
There was an exchange of views on the regional agenda. The issues of holding the summit of the Organization of Turkic States in the city of Samarkand in November this year have been discussed.
