At the invitation of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in the city of Cholpon-Ata.
The President of Uzbekistan was met by the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers – Head of the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Japarov and other officials.
As previously reported, the Fourth Consultative Meeting of the Heads of Central Asian States shall be held in Cholpon-Ata on July 21.
The issues of further expansion of practical cooperation, including in trade, transport and logistics, industrial cooperation, innovation, food security, tourism, cultural and humanitarian exchange and other areas will be addressed at the Summit. There will also be an exchange of views on ensuring stability and sustainable development in the region.
It is envisaged to sign a number of documents.
It should be particularly emphasized that the initiative to hold a Consultative Meeting of the Heads of Central Asian States was put forward by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev in 2017 at the 72nd Session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The first Summit of the leaders of the region was held in March 2018 in Nur-Sultan, the second – in November 2019 in Tashkent, the third meeting – in August last year in the Avaza National Tourist Zone in Turkmenistan.
