On July 24, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
At the beginning of the conversation, the President of Russia has cordially congratulated the President of Uzbekistan on his birthday, sincerely wishing him a good health, well-being and success in the state activity for the sustainable development and prosperity of Uzbekistan.
Vladimir Putin also announced the recently signed decree awarding Shavkat Mirziyoyev with the Order of Aleksander Nevsky for great services in consolidating friendship and bilateral cooperation. The President of Uzbekistan has expressed gratitude to the President of Russia for the high assessment of the current level and full support for further strengthening of the Uzbek-Russian relations of strategic partnership and alliance.
The implementation of agreements reached at the top-level talks has been considered. The importance of continuing the active joint work within well-established effective intergovernmental cooperation mechanisms has been emphasized, particularly to support the high dynamics of trade and economic cooperation and promote the priority projects.
The Presidents of Uzbekistan and Russia have also noted with satisfaction the fruitful contacts and exchanges at the interregional level, and advocated for their further expansion.
A particular attention is paid to the regional agenda. An exchange of views took place on the preparation for the next meeting of the Council of Heads of States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in the city of Samarkand in September this year.
