The official visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Belgium has concluded.
During his stay in the city of Brussels the Head of our state held productive meetings with President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of the European Council António Costa, President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, and King Philippe of the Belgians.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in the signing ceremony of the historic Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement between Uzbekistan and the European Union, which forms a new comprehensive legal framework for expanding and strengthening of mutually beneficial cooperation, primarily in the sphere of trade and investments.
The leader of our country also held a meeting with the heads of leading European companies and financial institutions, during which prospects of implementing new joint projects in priority areas were discussed.
During the visit it was announced on the completion of bilateral negotiations with the European Union on Uzbekistan’s accession to the World Trade Organization.
Concluding the events of the visit, Shavkat Mirziyoyev departed to the city of Tashkent.
