Festive events on the occasion of the International Tea Day, which is celebrated annually in various countries on May 21, were held at UNESCO Headquarters, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.
The permanent missions of Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, China, the Republic of Korea, Vietnam, Bangladesh, India, Columbia, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Brazil, Tanzania and Kenya took part in the events.
The event included national stands, revealing the cultures and traditions of the peoples of the participating countries, including exhibitions of objects of tangible and intangible cultural heritage. The traditions and ceremonies of tea drinking in different countries have been presented, which have been passed down from generation to generation from time immemorial.
Uzbekistan also presented several varieties of teas packaged in Tashkent, a collection of accessories prepared from Margilan adras, as well as several ceramic products. The participants got thoroughly acquainted with the history and traditions of tea drinking in different regions of the country, cultural and other features. The tourism and rich gastronomic potential of Uzbekistan were presented.
