On the sidelines of the ongoing trilateral summit in the city of Khujand, a meeting took place between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov.
At the beginning of the meeting, the leaders exchanged warm greetings on the occasion of the spring holiday of Navruz and the sacred Ramadan Hayit, wishing peace, prosperity, and well-being to the brotherly peoples.
The results of today’s trilateral negotiations were highly appreciated, with the main outcome being the signing of the Agreement on the intersection point of the state borders of Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan.
Progress in implementing the agreements reached at the highest level was noted with satisfaction. Trade turnover has increased by 70 percent since the beginning of the year. Industrial cooperation is successfully developing in various sectors of the economy, including with the support of the joint Investment Fund.
Issues were discussed regarding the acceleration of major regional projects in energy and transport communications, including the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway.
The heads of state expressed their support for maintaining intense interregional contacts and cultural-humanitarian exchanges.
The Presidents also exchanged views on the schedule and agenda of upcoming high-level events.
