The leaders summarize the results of productive negotiations

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev made statements for the mass media as a result of the talks.

The President of our country highly assessed the productive results of the meeting held, which vividly demonstrated the firm political will to deepening strategic partnership in the name of interests of the people of the three countries.

It was mentioned that during negotiations, special attention was paid to the issues of transit corridors development, including effective utilization of the capacities of Turkmenbashi and Baku ports, joint development of modern logistics infrastructure.

Plans for linking existing and future routes in the region in order to deepen the integration of national transport systems were discussed in detail. It was emphasized that Uzbekistan advocates carrying out a coordinated policy in this sphere.

Primarily, this concerns tariff policy and the creation of favorable conditions for business when entering international markets.

Agreements were reached on the joint work on the projects for developing logistics infrastructure and ferry services through the Caspian Sea.

Additionally, opportunities were reviewed for cooperation of the three countries in the sphere of energy – exploration of hydrocarbon deposits and export of the generated electricity.

The central focus of the negotiations was on the tasks of significantly increasing trade turnover and expanding scale of industrial cooperation.

It was underlined that measures will be taken to stimulate mutual supplies of high-quality products manufactured by the national enterprises, and create conditions for the implementation of new investment projects utilizing the potential of the regions of the three countries.

The leaders agreed to expand cooperation in the sphere of rational use of water resources and combatting ecological challenges. Additionally a joint program in tourism sphere and cultural exchanges will be adopted.

The work on implementation of the reached agreements and documents will be carried out by the respective ministers based on a “road map”.

In conclusion of his speech, the Head of our state especially emphasized that today’s historic meeting will serve to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation between the three countries, create sustainable trade, transport and energy corridors, as well as accelerate the processes of regional integration.
