On December 11, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed a presentation of construction and landscaping projects.
As society develops, people’s demands grow, and there are new needs for construction and creation of modern amenities.
Tashkent’s Yunusabad Dekhkan Market is always lively, but its further expansion is impeded by a lack of space. In addition, traffic on the adjacent streets is congested. In this regard, a decision was made to develop the market according to the modern concept – “in height”, increasing retail space and improving infrastructure.
According to the project, a three-storey eco-market will be built on the site of the existing market, preserving its traditional appearance. An additional shopping center and a jewelry house will be located nearby. Most importantly, an underground parking lot for more than a thousand cars will be built under the buildings. The project will create 4-5 thousand new jobs. The President instructed the responsible persons to organize the construction in stages so that the market continues to operate normally.
The next project concerns the improvement of parks and creation of new recreation areas. In Abdulla Qadiri Park in Tashkent, it is planned to increase the area of green spaces, effectively utilizing the terrain, as well as build walking areas, fountains, a new planetarium and a gastro-hall to attract tourists. The new facilities will harmonize with the ensemble of Chorsu Market and the Old City as a whole.
The President emphasized the importance of improving conditions in the park and reflecting national traditions.
– These plans are good, but it is necessary to add more national character. Here it is important to reflect the history of the city, the traditions of our people. Every person, regardless of age, should find a place to his liking in the park – said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The “Dustlik” park will also be renovated and become a modern recreation place. Walking paths, water reservoirs and recreation areas will be reconstructed, new benches will be installed. A family entertainment zone, a children’s art center, a skateboard area, an aviary and a ferris wheel will be established.
The Committee for Interethnic Relations and Friendly Ties with Foreign Countries is located on the territory of the park. It is planned to build pavilions of national cultural centers on the adjacent square. Each pavilion will be made in a style reflecting the unique culture and traditions of the people it represents. The pavilions will harmoniously complement the ensemble of the “Dustlik” park.
At the initiative of the President, the “Navruz” park was created in Tashkent in 2019, which has now become one of the most popular and landscaped places in the city center. To expand the opportunities of this park, it is planned to build a hotel, an indoor sports complex, a restaurant and a conference hall.
New neighborhoods, parks and recreation areas are created throughout the country as part of the comprehensive development of the regions. Particularly, “Yangi Uzbekistan” parks were built in the cities of Nurafshan and Namangan. The next projects are aimed at improving their efficiency and attracting more guests.
Near the “Yangi Uzbekistan” parks in Nurafshan and Namangan, tourist centers with oriental bazaar, crafts zones, amphitheater, fountains and other facilities will be established. The green areas will be increased by planting new trees.
The President has instructed to ensure high quality implementation of these projects and create comfortable conditions for residents and tourists.
